- Titus County Justice of Peace, Precinct 2 - Judge Irma Dunn I recently had an ELD (Electronic Logging Device) case heard before Judge Irma Dunn's court, and I left deeply frustrated by the entire experience. First and foremost, neither the DA nor Judge Dunn had a clear understanding of how ELD systems actually function. This was not my assumption -- both openly admitted they were unfamiliar with the technology. The arresting Trooper also failed to provide any clear or accurate explanation of how the device operated or what the data actually showed. Despite this obvious lack of understanding, the court had no hesitation in issuing a $300 fine. If the judge and prosecutor cannot comprehend the very technology at the center of the case, how can a fair and just verdict be reached? It can't. Based on the actual functions and data of my ELD system, there was no legitimate basis for a guilty finding. This feels less like justice and more like a money grab targeting commercial drivers who may not have the resources or time to fight back. To make matters worse, I was forced to wait over two hours in court because the Trooper arrived late. I was required to let every other case go before mine as a result of his tardiness. Let me be clear -- had I arrived late to court, a warrant would have been issued for my arrest. The double standard here is glaring and unacceptable. Law enforcement officers should be held to the same standard of punctuality and accountability as the citizens they cite. I strongly encourage commercial drivers and anyone with a technical or specialized case to be aware of what they're walking into in this court. Come prepared, bring documentation, and don't assume the court will take the time to understand your case before issuing a fine.

This review is specifically about Judge Irma Dunn over Precinct 2. I am an experienced lawyer who practices in many counties across Texas. Today was my first time before Judge Dunn, and I will likely never set foot in this court again. I was so thoroughly impressed that I felt compelled to make a public statement about Judge Dunn. A justice of the peace is not required to be a lawyer. Sometimes that makes practicing in justice court frustrating and difficult. Judge Dunn clearly knows the law and what she is doing. She followed procedure to a T. Likewise her staff was on top of things and did not hesitate to consult someone with more experience if they were unsure of how to handle something. Judge Dunn was present in the office and actively involved in overseeing the check in process before court ensuring things were done in accordance with the law. While on the bench, Judge Dunn maintained firm control of her courtroom while treating every single person in there with compassion and respect. She did this regardless of whether that person was represented by an attorney or whether they spoke native English. Titus County is fortunate to have Judge Dunn.

The people that work in this office are some of the most incompetent people in the world. They make threats of arrest towards people on fines that have already been paid. Titus county operates in the Stone age. They don't understand new technology like fax machines and Email. The people that work in the office of Paula Dyke are some of the most unintelligent people on the face of the Earth. Only place on Earth where Black Friday is a government holiday. They loose mail and operate at a snail's pace. I was written a ticket for no fishing license. I had a fishing license. I mailed a copy of the license to the address I was instructed too. They lost it. Good luck having to deal with these people. It is truly a lose....lose situation.

Justice of the peace of precinct 1 Steve A. is just a bully behind a badge. Trying to intimidate my wife threatening her without me there. then they call cps on the good parents that are just trying to get kids help when the hospital and them drag their feet around. They gave her 2 options then lie to cps and tell them they never did. I promise he wouldn't of done my wife like that if I was there.

Steve Agan is incompetent for the job he is doing . I asked him one question and he accused me of trying to sway him . I asked why my son did not get a bond ...that was not trying to sway at all .then as I was leaving to go find a answer he said Teresa you had better think twice before coming in here accusing me again . Hes a outright bully and doesnt need to be there.

They are very demeaning when speaking to you. The instructions were unclear with making rude threats and comments in between giving paperwork. No reason they can't be more pleasant and helpful.
