1.0“I paid $1,200 retainer for legal aid * I met with the assigned attorney for approximately 36 minutes.During this time he had no idea or information on my case even though they write a brief when I already came in for hour and told them backstory. During that meeting of me just repeating myself the attorney excused himself for approximately 12 minutes to use the restroom. * Upon returning, he stated he would review my materials and promised to follow up by 5:00 PM that same day since he wasn't feeling well. * I did not receive any communication by that time and had to initiate follow-up myself. * When I reached out, the attorney stated he felt better after taking a nap and advised that I pick up my paperwork the following Monday since there wasn't anything I could do with it over the weekend. * On Monday morning, I drove to the office to retrieve my paperwork and asked a few brief questions, which took approximately 10 minutes. * After that interaction, I sent a follow-up text message, received a response, and have not heard from the attorney again despite reasonable attempts to communicate. In total, the services provided amounted to less than one hour of legal assistance, with no substantive legal work completed and no ongoing communication or representation. Given the limited time spent, lack of follow-through, and absence of continued legal services, I am requesting a refund and have no idea how to get in touch with anyone there. Terrible experience especially when already dealing with a very stressful and emotional issue in the first place.”
1.0“The lawyer was late on everything thing she did and I spent most of my time trying to get in touch with her. The work she did do was sloppy--she often contradicted herself in drafts of the proposal. She then moved to a different firm and didn't notify me until the night before she left. She said I still had time left with her that I had paid for but then later said she didn't (even though I had it in writing.) I called the clinic to ask about this and no one responded. I could not afford to hire a layer but looking back I could have gotten more help in less time and had a more supportive experience if I had paid another lawyer the same amount I paid St. Andrew. Definitely do not recommend.”
1.0“Initially contacted (SALC) for a custody case knowing they work on a fluctuating pay scale for lower income individuals, however...after paying a 50$ consultation fee and spending 30 minutes roughly outlining details of the case they quoted 5000$ for a retainer to even begin the process, and 300$ payments every month for 13 months. Ridiculous”
1.0“The only non profit in town but still expensive! Expect to pay at least $5,000 for representation on top of a $50 fee to talk briefly for a consult... if you go to court that will cost another $5,000 minimum (i fell into the lowest income bracket, so it'll cost twice that much if you dont)”
5.0“Connie Lukes represented me on a particularly difficult case under immense time constraints. She worked very hard to ensure things were accomplished on time. Highly recommend her.”
1.0“If I could give negative stars I would. Even one start is too good for this scam. I'm a DV survivor with a special needs child who lost custody solely because I had no money as the stay home parent. The attorney I spoke with gave me same quote I had from more successful local attorneys...4k! Who has 4k just laying around? Certainly not low income folks. My son is in his abusive father's custody and is now diagnosed with psychosis from the psychological abuse he has to live with because of the lucrative family law market. Did you know these lawyers refer to family law as "the grinder" ? Save your money and sanity for a 5 start attorney.”
1.0“I'm a male victim of abuse whose former partner made me houseless, stole my money, waged a campaign of character assassination, and forcefully separated me from my children. St. Andrew staff never answered the phone, rarely returned calls, and then assigned me a lawyer who was too busy to take my case and implied I was being manipulative for discussing my trauma. I wouldn't recommend this office even for the desperate - I am desperate and they didn't even try for me.”
5.0“I got great service as a father. I felt that my children were put first and foremost. I really appreciate there patience and counsel during a very difficult time. I definitely recommend the team at St Andrews.”
