“I originally hired RGJ in April, 2025. My attorney was Ms. Crystal Walker. In October, 2025, I again retained RGJ for another estate/insurance issue. Ms. Walker was again my attorney and again initially was pleased but, I became frustrated with the progress and what I preceived as a lack of attention. In all fairness - I have learned the wheels of justice turn very slow. I voiced my concerns to Ms. Walker and Mr. Jain at the end of Sept. 2025. Mr. Jain explained "Crystal was under the weather a few days and it probably got her behind and lost track. She didn't say that in her email because she doesn't like to gather sympathy. Crystal is a former member of our armed forces and takes her duties and responsibilities very seriously. She apparently dropped the ball on this one, as did I since this is my firm and I am ultimately responsible." I responded that while a greatly appreciated Ms. Walkers service - that truthfullness and honesty are characteristics that all braches of our armed forces value. I explained that I am a reasonable individual - people get sick - balls get dropped - but felt that honesty is the best policy. Mr. Jain assured me that he would personally make sure my case is handled appropriately - so I agreed to continue to allow RGJ to represent me. Then without notice or consultation RGJ replaces Ms. Walker with another attorney, Ms. Michelle Kornblith. So I do not presonally know Ms. Kornblith's qualifications - I do not know if in the RGJ corporate structure if she is considered a "Senior" or "Junior" or anything like that - but in my opinion there was a noticable difference between the two attoneys. I can only assume that Mr. Jain also recognized the difference as Ms. Walker had a billing rate of $400 and Ms. Kornblith has a billing rate of $350. Furthermore Ms. Kornblith apparently had to consult with Mr. Thomas Smith (billing rate of $425) on more than one occassion for which I was billed for. On December 17, 2025 - I terminated the relationship with RGJ and they no longer represent me. In January 2026, I contact RGJ with regard to refunding the remainder of my retainer. In short Mr. Simpson lied to me concerning the date the refund check was mailed out. (I have the recording of the phone call - it is kind of amuzing - bad liar and I am still not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing). All of this is pretty insignicant - and yes I realize that I am the one writing this. A few extra days to get a refund is not a big deal. My concern is the honesty and truthfulness factor. Again - I don't know if Ms. Walker was actually under the weather - I am going to assume she was under the weather - again these things happen. I have never served in the military - so I will only make this comment as an American. It rubs me the wrong way that Mr. Jain used the military service of Ms. Walker, maybe not as "an excuse", but to try and explain why the ball was dropped. I feel that is diminishes the true sacrifice that Ms. Walker and all the men and women who volunteer make. Corporate culture comes from the top down. Perhaps Mr. Simpson has adopted this corporate culture from Mr. Jain and therefore felt it was ok not to be fully honest when mailing the replacement refund check. These are the only 2 times I have hired or retained an Attorney so my experience with this is pretty limited - but I am starting to understand why the cliche about attorneys is generally negative. I believe there is a bit of true behind most stereotypes. Again - for the most part I was very pleased with Ms. Walker as my attorney but I likely would not recommend RGJ and caution others who may seek their service. I doubt I will be getting the $25 Amazon Gift Card for this review. Follow-up: RGJ sent me a Demand Letter stating I wrote a "defamatory review" and threatened legal action if I did not Correct, Clarify or Retract my review. The email I sent in response it attached. Lets see how long this review remains posted - cause I am not making any changes and I will not voluntarily take down.”
