“I hired Paula Perez Law for my divorce case and my experience was very disappointing. Communication was poor -- many of my emails and concerns went unanswered. Instructions I gave, such as providing draft documents and trial questions, were not followed. Billing was confusing and, in my view, at times unreasonable. They somehow didn't charge for 24-line items (over $18,000) over an 8 month period and then suddenly wanted the whole amount paid as a condition to continuing working my case forward. I was charged 8 hours of prep time for the first trial, which canceled. And then, I was charged 10 hours of prep time for the second trial attempt although there had been no significant changes to warrant starting trial prep from zero. When I attempted to engage with Ms. Perez for an explanation she insisted that her time to listen to my concerns be billable. I also experienced delays and mistakes in handling important documents regarding the sale of a house that ended up costing me additional time, money, and stress. While there were moments when the work was handled competently, the overall management of my case left me very dissatisfied. I encourage others to carefully evaluate their options before choosing this firm. Update (January 2026): After sharing my experience publicly, I received a formal cease and desist letter from the firm requesting that I remove my review. I stand by my experience as described above, which reflects my personal interactions and documented billing and case history. Additional details and supporting documentation are available publicly.”
