“WE WILL TAKE ANY EXCUSE TO VISIT CAMERON - it has such a beautiful and unique Courthouse building in the middle of town! We are wedding photographers and had the privilege of taking the wedding party and couples' portraits here (and the cute areas around it). The grounds are well kept and there are plenty of trees around that provide shade for those hot summer days. We go around sunset to get some GORGEOUS shots of everyone -- this area is especially wonderful for any couples that have big bridal parties In short: stopping in this area of town is a must for portraits. Definitely a place we'll be looking forward to coming back to!”

“The Milam County Courthouse from 1835 is a beautiful building considered a Texas Historical site. The top of the building features a very nice statue of the Goodness of Justice. Although the building was expanded and remodeled over the years it maintains the look and feel of the Renaissance Revival style. On the corner of the site where the courthouse is located you find a nice and touching small monument in memory of the Milam County citizens who served the Confederate Army between 1860 and 1865.”

“Very historic! If you go in, check out where the sheriff shot and lodged a bullet in the wall. The woodwork and architecture is amazing in the building!”

“What a wonderful and historic Courthouse. Downtown Cameron is undergoing a renaissance with a new Coffee Shop, Bakery, Restaurants and Boutiques. It is a charming downtown, great for an afternoon visit.”

“Such a beautiful courthouse with a historic past deep in the heart of Texas. Milam County was named for Benjamin Milam, a Texas Revolutionary hero. “If you like courthouses this is one of the prettier and nicer ones in Texas. There is a lot to look at including the Milam statue, gazebo and the fountain just to name a few. When my wife and I come to the Cameron area we always stop here. It is a great place we can take our four year old. By the way check out the old jail across the street from it, it's pretty nice too.”

“Everyone in the court house is friendly, helpful and will answer any question big or small. Do your due diligence and you can get just about anything done here with a smile ”
