“I found Ms Lynette Briggs to be one attorney that did not represent her client to the fullest when court appointed to her. She recently represented my boyfriend in a case where he was assigned to her. I reached out to her weeks before the court date to offer any assistants and inquired what his options would be, and she never responded. It is very unprofessional for a lawyer to not respond to a client, or a client's family when trying to help the case. Not only did she not respond to me, but she never made the effort to meet with my boyfriend before the court date to discuss his case. When the court date arrived, she didn't seem to be familiar with the case, and she clearly didn't fight for the defendant (my boyfriend). It is very unfortunate the case was not taken seriously. It is my opinion she was not prepared and/or not interested in this case. Maybe she doesn't think that people will refer her if she did a good job or people like me will write a review. I believe in the court system and I think it is great that our system allows us to have representation even when we can not afford it, but when an attorney does not work to help the individual, what is the purpose of having someone represent you???? Is this the kind of system we live in??? No wonder I couldn't find any reviews of her on any social media. An attorney that has been around for more that 19 years should have some thing good said about themselves. My opinion is, if you can't take your clients that are court appointed to you seriously by putting every effort in place (ie. meeting with client in advance), then what kind of effort would she make if you did pay her a fee? Maybe a little effort would come from her, but I do not think she would do everything it takes to help her client(s). From what I understood, she didn't fight for my boyfriend, she did the minimal. So if you get her as a court appointed attorney, I would recommend you spend the money for someone that is willing to work for you, and I wouldn't recommend her.”
