The legal assistant, Renee Purvis, called 15+ minutes late without apology or asking if I was still available, and launched directly into the consultation as if the delay hadn't occurred. During our conversation, my questions seemed to be met with frustration rather than the collaborative approach I was hoping for. While I appreciated the time to hear their services explained, the interaction raised enough concerns about communication style and professionalism that I decided to work with another firm. “Mr. Baumer, we paid the fees in full back in March 2025. Renee took the information/payment to which we have record of. For the last several months, we have tried to get some sort of status from Renee to no avail...and appear to be getting the run around from/being ignored by her. The last we heard from her is that she need to review some info and contact us within a week...that was just about two months ago. She has a not responding to texts, emails, etc. We are reaching out to you in case you are not aware and would like to speak to you, ASAP. We have worked with you in the past and had excellent service; we are very concerned now. Update: Due to understandable emergencies, there were delays; however, Renee and Mr. Baumer kept their promise, kept in contact with us, and fully resolved our case! “I just had a very bad experience with the legal assistant Renee Purvis. We had a scheduled consultation she ended up calling me 30 minutes late. While I understand things happen, I also had to rearrange my schedule to make the appointment work. She apologized and we began. She asked my situation and my income, mind you I am reaching out to the professionals to discuss options and leaning on them for their expertise. She told me I made too much to qualify for chapter 7 and they do not do chapter 13, sent me on my way and that was that. Little did she realize I have done my homework, she never once asked me about my home, mortgage, etc. Nor did she talk about the means test. She was quick to get off the phone likely because she over booked herself today, well she lost a potential client and if she treated me this way I am certain it's not the first.”

Filing for bankruptcy was a daunting decision due to its potential impact on my credit and financial future.
