Beware of this county and the Hardeman Sheriff's Office they are corrupt and unconscionable. The Sheriff's Office targets truck driver's and out of towner's. Unlike other states where Officer's/Sheriff's can use reasonable discretion the public servants in this county do not. I have a good driving record, no issues on there. However, I was issued a citation for going through a yellow light and the Sheriff gave me a ticket for, "disregard of a red light". He didn't bother to check my driving record where he could've issued a warning (reasonable discretion). This is because he had ulterior motives for stopping me in the 1st place. Than instead of listening to my explanation on the true facts of the matter, he chose to twist my words against me in effort to issue addition traffic citations. Totally corrupt in an effort to steal people's hard earned money and jeopardize their freedom. Public servants aren't suppose to behave in such a manner. Straight loser's.

This place is a joke, When I got my citation the officer claimed I was speeding, the funny thing was he said I was speeding 10 miles back, so you're saying you drove 10 miles to catch up to me to give me a ticket? Second I now have a warrant for my arrest from this location even though I've tried multiple times to call them. They never answer the phone! So how am I supposed to pay for a citation when I can't get anyone to answer the phone, this is literally setup for failure. I'm logging all the calls so when I do get dragged out of work due to warrant I'll prove I attempted to call multiple times on different days.

So I got a speeding ticket, I will own that. But they gave me 10 days to resolve the issue and for 10 days I have been unable to reach anyone. The information sheet that they gave me with the ticket states how I can pay for the ticket specifically says I have to speak with someone 1st before making a credit card payment. After not getting ahold of anyone I tried to make the credit card payment, via a 3rd party agency, and they are going to charge me an additional $10. It is now past my appearance date and I am unsure if I should pay the amount that is on the recording or if they will add additional fines because I did not verbally speak to anyone like the information sheet states. This is a worse system I have ever experienced, not because I get a lot of tickets but because I have 15 years of prior law enforcement.

8/30/2019 12:45pm Received a speeding ticket and showed up to the court house within the timeline of the summons. The town is a little small but I was able to locate it just fine through Google maps. I arrived however the court house was closed as I believe the clerk, Kristy was on break. 15 minutes pass by and the court house was reopened and Kristy was quite friendly and professional in forwarding my case for trial. I will be back again soon or await further notices in my case. It was just a minor speeding ticket however after visiting 30 countries last year, all I can say is God bless America as in America, we have our constitutional rights to defend ourselves in court and present a reasonable case in a fair trial no matter how big or how small. I will be updating this review in regards to my case.

The most money hungry county court I've ever seen, officers tag you for offenses you didn't commit and force you to spend thousands on unnecessary legal fee. Officer Hannah is the worst of them

Rightfully owned the fact that I was speeding. The deputy was very nice regardless of the speeding award. We all make mistakes. It's made me a better driver and I've been back through the panhandle twice since then and I pay better attention for sure. The justice of the piece Hr. Hardaman's (sp?) office clerk was helpful and gave me my ticket number as I had lost my copy. She provided me with the ticket number and I paid the fine by phone all automated. I very much could have done without the press one to plead guilty and pay the charge!!??!! That was a little hurtful...hahahha. Oh well...okras vitalas.

Out of the area travelers beware! Horrible system for trying to pay a ticket. They don't answer the phone so you can't get a hold of anyone to find out out to pay for your ticket. They are quick to issue a warrant though which raises your fees. A $100 ticket quickly goes to several hundred dollars. This is how they make their money to fund this middle of nowhere town.
