“My wife hired Hacker & Murphy for what we thought would be a straightforward matter. We went into it fully aware that the $5k fee was labeled "nonrefundable". With this, we expected real advocacy, clear communication and a lawyer who would fight for us. Unfortunately, that wasn't our experience. Our assigned attorney, Alishah Bhimani, was late to court appearances and made us feel dismissed throughout the process and in the courtroom. When the court clerk entered the wrong charge for my wife, the judge said only our attorney could correct it. Alishah refused, calling it "not important". In our experience, that decision affected the plea options my wife was later offered, and she ended up with a worse deal that what had originally been discussed. After the heating, Alishah did not take the time to say two words to us, let alone debrief or explain what would happen next. We had two very short court appearances, plus a few brief phone calls. That was essentially the entire representation. Looking back, we paid $5k for what felt like minimal service and we did not receive the effort, communication, or support we expected when we agreed to that fee. I'm sharing this because I want other working class people to understand what they might be stepping into. Based on our experience, we genuinely feel we would have been better off handling the case ourselves. This is just our personal experience, but I cannot recommend this firm.”

“In a very somber situation, everyone at Hacker Murphy (from the receptionist all the way up to the lead litigator) on my case was absolutely fantastic.
