1.0“ WARNING: Read this before hiring Girling Law. The communication from this office is shockingly bad. They ignored multiple emails, gave me incorrect information, and never once apologized for the delays or the stress this caused. The attorney originally assigned to my hearing didn't show up, and right before the hearing was rescheduled I put pressure on them and Mr. Girling had to join from vacation wearing a T-shirt, which even the judge commented on. The case dragged on longer than promised and I was charged more than originally forecasted. I was told repeatedly that the court-issued check in my case hadn't been received or was still "being investigated." After being ignored for almost a week, I finally called the court myself. They told me the check had already cleared two months earlier. The firm had my money the entire time and failed to tell me. They only responded when I escalated and pushed them aggressively. I should not have had to chase down my own funds or uncover the truth on my own. This office clearly does not prioritize clients, accuracy, or basic communication. If you value honesty and responsiveness, look elsewhere. This review is your warning.”
1.0“If you want an eviction delayed for no reason, weeks of silence, and constant follow-up just to get the most basic tasks done, this is the firm to hire. I signed a retainer in mid-October. Nothing happened for nearly a month. I had to call and email daily just to get them to file the case, and they only acted when I told them I would report the matter to the State Bar. Every single step required pressure from me -- without it, nothing moved. Communication was almost nonexistent. Calls were unanswered, emails ignored, and the person answering the phone often seemed completely unfamiliar with my case or unable to give clear information. I genuinely received more consistent communication from my non-paying tenants than from my own attorney. After I finally obtained a default judgment, the firm refused to file the writ of possession and refused to withdraw even after I terminated them in writing. This left me completely stuck and unable to proceed on my own, causing significant and unnecessary financial harm. The delays caused by the firm were worse than anything the tenants did. At this point, I genuinely believe that a basic AI tool could handle a straightforward eviction more efficiently than what I experienced. And honestly, if AI really does replace this level of service, it will be a blessing. I am fully in favor of it. For simple cases, do yourself a favor: go pro se. You will save money, time, and stress. You will end up doing all the follow-up yourself anyway. I wish someone had warned me beforehand. Consider this your warning. I wish negative 10 stars was an option.”
1.0“This law firm is a joke! Please please please do not use them. I'm convinced it's just a ponzi scheme to steal peoples money and waste their time. When you're evicting someone you don't have endless time to waste. We were told by this firm that our eviction case would get thrown out because we didn't follow the notice to vacate steps throughly enough and that they would dismiss it for free and get it done right. Guess what they didn't dismiss anything and they took 3 weeks to send a notice to vacate. And they never updated us. We called everyday and they couldn't tell us anything, no progress or why there was no progress. No one who answers the phone knows anything. And they say they will call back. And don't. So we had to go to the court case they said they would dismiss but didn't. And we won without them. So do yourself a favor and stay away! You're better off doing it yourself and using ChatGPT like we did. Edit: After this review was posted Marc Girling reached out to me and tried to argue with me about his performance or lack of in my opinion. Very unprofessional. Also, didn't take accountability for anything. You shouldn't have to write a negative review to finally get an update on what work if any has been done.”
1.0“I am dissatisfied with the handling of my case by Griling Law Firm. The charges imposed exceeded the amount that was verbally agreed upon during our phone conversation. The communication was satisfactory initially, up until I signed the waiver. However, after that point, I experienced significant difficulty in maintaining effective communication and was required to make numerous follow-ups.”
1.0“I had a very disappointing experience with Girling Law. Communication was a constant issue; I often found myself waiting days for responses to urgent inquiries, and when I did receive a response, it was often vague and unhelpful. There seemed to be a lack of coordination among the team members handling my case, leading to confusion and miscommunication. Despite multiple attempts to reach out via phone and email, I rarely received timely or clear responses. The case has been closed for over six months now, yet I am still waiting for the release of my retainer fee. This delay is unacceptable and unprofessional. I expected a higher standard of service and responsiveness from a reputable law firm. I would not recommend 'Girling Law Firm' to anyone seeking reliable legal assistance.”
1.0“The absolute worst communication and are holding me back from hiring a collection l agency. As every day goes by I'm losing money. They provided an incomplete judgment and it's 45+ days old. Iv been trying to get ahold of them for 2 weeks now and they refuse to call or email me back as they owe me the rest of my retainer. Also charged me for a 1 minute phone call to ask if my tenant moved out after I have already told them he did months prior. This company is very unprofessional. Edit: Mark Girling called me back after reading this review to address my concerns and I formed me that he is experiencing turn over within the company and one person is swamped with work. Understandable but this is costing me time and money. He says they would file the necessary paperwork that should of been done weeks ago by Friday(no promises) and would give me a phone number to get ahold of Linda who has been handling my case. I didn't receive the number and my trust within this company is next to non-existent with my experience so far. I want to see results not hear excuses. I'm still owed the rest of my retainer.”
4.0“I used Girling law to help me get tenants out of my house in Sept 2021 who would not pay the rent. Initially I spoke with a gentleman named Alan. He was very helpful and patient with my questions. Overall, I had a good experience with him over the course of about 3 to 4 weeks. Girling law was supposed to send a certified letter and demanding that the tenants evacuate. My tenants claim they never received the letter and Alan claimed that the letter was sent. I was never given any proof that they received it. I'm not sure who was telling me the truth with regard to this. However, once they did evacuate I called garling and asked them to close my case. I spoke with an emailed a lady named Stephanie. She was helpful at first but then I couldn't get a hold of her. This gentleman Allen then quit returning all of my calls and I couldn't get anywhere on closing my case. Things started to drag on and I got very frustrated. Call after call email after email. I don't remember what brought it about but after a couple of months Marc Girling himself called me up. He apologized for the confusion and the delay. He , as did everybody at this particular time noted that they had some staffing challenges and that some of these people were no longer with the firm. He apologized again and let me know. He would personally make sure that I got the remainder of my retainer. It was just a couple of days and I received the check. Overall my experience was not flawless. I was very upset for a short while, but I really appreciated Marc himself taking care of the issue. I can't speak for other clients but I personally would give gerling law firm another chance if I needed representation for an eviction in the future. My interaction with Marc was very good and he was very kind and polite.”
1.0“Will be filing a litigation soon. Terrible experience. Promised to evict my tenant in 6 weeks max. Ended up being 12 weeks. Team is not responsive. It took them 4 weeks to deliver a "notice to vacate". Marc is not checking in on his team at all or on the progress. I had to beg for updates, and every update is $60. Do NOT recommend. Stay away.”
