1.0“Like all other reviews have stated Ferris Municipal Court is a speed trap money grab town. I was traveling to Dallas and was going 75 being passed by every other car on the highway and got pulled over. Officer stated I was doing 85 which I was not as I was on cruise control. My 2010 Expedition was probably the oldest and most run down at the time and I don't think it was a coincidence at all the newer nicer cars that were probably who he radared as they passed me were not pulled over but I was. After receiving my ticket I paid and was told by the clerk that was all I had to do. A year later after getting random mail from lawyers stating I needed immediate action as I had a warrant I decided to look into it and seen I still had court fees that were in warrant status. Per the clerk, I received correspondence via mail and email (I did not) stating everything I needed and failed to do. In the end (if it is truly resolved now) I paid$250 on top of the $150 I already paid over a year ago to not have a warrant out from this crooked court.”
1.0“Besides being a speed trap between Houston & Dallas, this court is wretched. I got a speeding ticket, which I paid on time, in full. But instead of the state allowed 90 days for defensive driving, they only gave me 15 and nowhere did it state DD had to be done before court date/ticket paid date. So I had to send emails and do virtual court to talk to the judge. Judge said I could get deferred and do DD since the ticket was paid in full, on time. But the person answering emails gave 24 hours to get some random form signed and returned to pay an ADDITIONAL FEE. Instead of 24 hours, I responded in 30 hours and now no one will answer calls or emails. This place is a SCAM. I am considering an attorney, as these practices seem to be in conflict with the state laws. It seems like " a good old boy" type of place where the rules don't really matter. All this nonsense just to keep a speeding ticket off my record! If the policies were transparent, people wouldn't get into such a bind, but it seems like all they want is to confuse people and take as much money as possible.”
1.0“This is the worst court I've ever encountered or had to deal with. All they care about is scamming people out of money or throwing them in jail. I did everything I was supposed to do to contest false violations and they're still trying to force me to pay $200 or be issued an arrest warrant. They are horrible, do not care about people, and make it difficult to contact them on purpose. Avoid handling anything here at all costs.”
1.0“They say one thing on the phone and when I go in person, they say another thing. Ended up paying $500 in "fines" they said I can avoid.”
1.0“The people who work here are nice, but the judge was awful. I had a registration ticket and my husband spent 3 days getting the registration and the required paperwork. Even though I complied and was told I would only pay a compliance fee the judge said he wasn't going to allow it anyway. So My husband wasted 3 days and took time off work to get everything asked for. What's funny is I own a business in town and minutes after my hearing a representative from the police department came into my business asking for donations to the police department. I politely declined. This was my first ticket ever and it was frustrating to comply and waste time and the judge didn't even take that into consideration.”
1.0“Never answer the phone. I was suppose to get a letter in the mail about court for a ticket and, without surprise, did not receive one. I've gone up there twice and they were not concerned about assisting me in a speeding ticket. There is a lack in professionalism with the employees here. It is clear that Ferris just wants money. Every individual I have spoken to has been rude. I would think they would enjoy the job they choose to stay at enough to be a bit more kind and helpful to members of the community, especially since it is a city job.”
1.0“I have been calling sense last week to settle a ticket and there is no one answering the phones. I live 3.5 hours away and was told by the police officer that I would be able to call and settle the case over the phone. Today is my court date and there is still no one answering the phones. This is completely unprofessional. There isn't even a voicemail option.”
1.0“Ferris County Municipal Court, disappointed me. No one is there to answer Call. Due to very poor answering services. I tried to email y'all and no response. It's been three months that I have not been able to get in touch with anyone. This is ridiculous. I don't know what is the deal going on here in this little town but you need to hire some people to answer the phone. How in the world are you supposed to take care of your responsibilities and no one is there to help you?”
