“Writing this review on behalf of my parents. In 2010, we hired Don Hector to represent my brother--and to this day, it remains one of the most devastating decisions we made. He did absolutely nothing to advocate for my brother. There was no fight in him, no belief in his client. All he saw was a young Black man, and he allowed the system to swallow him whole without resistance. Fifteen years later, we're still fighting for the justice my brother never received. Don Hector, you may not even remember the case, but I hope you understand the lasting damage you've done. What was just another case on your docket has permanently altered the course of a young man's life--and torn through a family still trying to pick up the pieces. You failed him, and we will never forget it.”

“WHAT A JOKE! DO NOT PAY THIS MAN A CENT!!!!!! I had the misfortune of engaging Don Hecors' attorney office, and the experience was nothing short of a nightmare. The attorney demonstrated a shocking lack of professionalism and legal knowledge, leaving me feeling more confused than supported. Furthermore, the staff was consistently rude and dismissive, treating my concerns with contempt rather than compassion. Communication was virtually nonexistent, and my attempts to seek clarification were met with condescending remarks. This office exemplifies all that is wrong with legal representation, providing nothing but stress and frustration for clients who deserve competence and respect. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere for legal assistance.”

“This lawyer deserves a negative score. After paying all the money I paid for my daughter and get the outcome she received is heartbreaking! He told her over and over again that they were in good shape and the charges were going to get dismissed! He never let her see the evidences that was supposedly against her. He made a deal with the prosecutor without consulting her to where when it came to the last day in court she had no choice but to go along with it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS LAWYER! You are better off defending yourself or a court appointed attorney”

“This review is posted on behave of my Mother who hired Mr. Hacker as a lawyer to represent my nephew. My Mother is a widow and she saved money, sold plates to pay Mr. Hecker 10,000 so he would represent my nephew and take care of another incident. Mr. Hecker never met with my nephew after 2 years and he mentioned that he wants to retire so he bullied my nephew into signing paperwork that he did not want to sign so he could try to close his case. Mr. Hecker has taken money from my Mother and has not held up his end of the contract of representing my nephew as a lawyer should. I am posting for any future or current clients who Mr. Hecker was suppose to represent. He is not a good lawyer and he should give my mother a refund as he has done nothing on his end as far as my nephew. My Mother has talked to others who Mr. Hecker is supposed to be representing and they are in the same boat, where they have paid him money but Mr. Hecker has not done anything for his client.”

“Do not ever get him as attorney. I paid this man $13,500 for my husband case and my husband been sitting in jail two and a half years and all he doing for 13500 is reset reset reset for a whole year my husband had to sit in Harris county because Mr hecker had a stroke and then he caught covid I do feel bad about that but at the same time no communication to me not nothing I told him that I paid you you act like you work for the county he keep telling me oh we going to get to dismiss oh but I yet to see anything 13.5 that's what I call him going to tell me that this is the time we doing a reset for trial da have no witnesses I told him you told me that in Dec here it is going on May & nothing yeah Ido not waste your money on this man if I could get a zero I would y'all he suck he gets our money & don't keep his word man greedy didn't even have another attorney to help his clients when he was out for a whole year so we go court & by him doing nothing my husband got 8 yrs TDC it went from 3 yrs to 10 yrs to 8 yrs make it make sense but I reported him to tba my husband did too”

“Don is an experienced, no-nonsense attorney. He's up before dawn and will likely have your case reset before you make it through the screening line down at the courthouse. He also expects the same no-nonsense approach from his clients, so don't get mad and write a bad review when you violated your bond conditions and expect him to do extra work for free. His price is incredibly fair considering one out of four cases he handles gets dismissed. Unlike other attorneys, his fee includes representation through the trial process; just make sure you adhere to the payment schedule agreed upon and you'll be right here in the free world writing a good review like me. *As a side note, it seems all of these negative reviews are written by the same person who's step-son probably violated bond or didn't show up for court. It would not be possible for a licensed attorney to stay in practice for over 40 years if the attorney missed settings and/or scammed people; read the bad reviews yourself if you don't believe me and if that's not convincing enough, just look up my case on the county's website.”

“I can't understand these bad reviews on Mr. Hecker. His rate is very very low compared to other lawyers. He knows everyone in both Harris County and Fort Bend County. It's your job to get your case dismissed. For the little money he charges, you go and do your own investigations and make witnesses available. Make it easy for him to complete your case. His quality Is that everyone in both counties listen to him and respect him. That's how you hire Don Hecker. Otherwise, hire another lawyer and pay 10 times for them to do your investigations. Imagine him a small claim court lawyer, where you bring all the evidence and he approach judges. Plain and simple.”
