Personal Injury Law

Civil Tort Claims, Negligence & Physical Injury Recovery in Texas

In Texas, personal injury law provides a critical legal pathway for individuals who have suffered bodily harm, emotional trauma, or catastrophic losses due to the negligence, carelessness, or intentional misconduct of another party. Under Texas civil tort law and the Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code, injured victims have the legal right to pursue full compensation for their economic damages—such as emergency medical treatment, surgeries, hospital stays, physical therapy, and lost past and future wages—as well as non-economic damages including physical pain, mental anguish, physical impairment, and disfigurement.

Texas operates under a modified comparative fault rule (proportionate responsibility under Chapter 33 of the Texas Civil Practice & Remedies Code). This means an injured plaintiff can recover damages as long as their share of liability is 50% or less, though their financial recovery is reduced by their allocated percentage of fault. Navigating insurance claims against major carriers requires rigorous case building: securing police crash reports, obtaining black-box telematics, interviewing witnesses, subpoenaing surveillance footage, consulting independent medical and accident reconstruction experts, and preparing compelling trial exhibits for Texas county and district courts.

“I was involved in a serious vehicle accident and the next day I was notified I had warrants out for my arrest for 3 alleged First degree felonies along with 3 alleged Class a misdemeanors. My warrants had no bond amounts listed. I voluntarily turned my self in to jail. Annie and Kenneth worked thru the holidays and sacrificed time with their family and kids to get a bond reduction. The bond reduction was a success and I was out of jail. During the entire time of my case they went above and beyond to fight for my innocence as well as keeping me calm and stress free. Annie and Kenneth never stopped fighting for me and standing by my side. The out come of my alleged offense went above and beyond my expectations! I'm a father and my child is 2yrs old. Without Biggs & Greenslade i wouldn't have seen my son for decades if convicted.nI owe them my life. I will never forget them and the fight they never stopped fighting for me.nDue to their hard work and attention to detail and being the best attorneys I have never known. I am now a free man with a great career! And my son still has his father by his side.nnDo not second guess hiring B&G law. Had I not hired them I would be in state jail over an alleged crime I did not commit for a very long time.nnAnnie & Kenneth I still to this day cannot thank you both enough for proving my innocence. You both literally saved my life. I will never forget yall.nnTake care and keep fighting the good fight!”
