Criminal Defense & Constitutional Advocacy

Defending Constitutional Rights in Texas Municipal, County & District Courts

Facing criminal charges in Texas places an individual's freedom, reputation, employment, and constitutional liberties under direct threat from the formidable resources of state or federal prosecutors. Under the Texas Penal Code and the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, criminal allegations range from Class C misdemeanors through first-degree and capital felonies that carry severe mandatory prison sentences and life-altering collateral consequences.

Effective criminal defense requires immediate intervention and proactive constitutional scrutiny. Seasoned Texas criminal defense attorneys examine every phase of the state's case: evaluating whether law enforcement had reasonable suspicion for initial traffic stops, probable cause for warrantless searches or arrests, adherence to Miranda warnings, chain of custody for physical evidence, and compliance with statutory blood and breath testing protocols. Early defense representation allows counsel to engage prosecutors before grand jury indictments, negotiate bond reductions at magistrate hearings, file motions to suppress illegally obtained evidence, and present robust defenses before Texas juries.

“My experience with Justin Sparks and Macy Jeffers was extremely disappointing and has put me in a very serious legal situation.nnI hired Justin Sparks because he made me feel confident that my charges could potentially be dismissed and that he would fight for my case. Unfortunately, that never happened. Throughout my case I never saw a real defense strategy or plan, and I was never given clear guidance on how we were going to fight these charges.nnThe day before court I was told that if I didn't have the remaining payment, they would withdraw from the case. I understood that and tried to make sure there would be a smooth transition so my case would not be negatively affected. Instead, the way this was handled resulted in the judge issuing FOUR warrants in my case.nnNow I'm stuck having to hire another attorney immediately just to try to get these warrants resolved. This situation could seriously impact my life, and it should have never gotten to this point.nnWhen I called Justin Sparks about the warrants, his response was essentially that he could have them recalled if I paid the money. This was after a miscommunication between me and his office. Instead of helping fix the situation, it felt like I was being pressured about payment while dealing with the consequences of how the case was handled.nnI completely understand attorneys deserve to be paid--I'm a business owner myself--but clients also deserve effort, communication, and a defense strategy. In my experience, I did not receive that. I recived 4 warrants because I didnt pay.nnBecause of how this case was handled, I am now dealing with multiple warrants and a much worse situation than when I started. I strongly recommend that anyone considering this firm , DO NOT DO IT! STAY AWAY HE WILL RUIN YOUR CASE!!!!”
